Vijay Iyer is a Fellow at the Space Frontier Foundation, focusing on space, climate, health, and sustainability. Previously, Vijay was an Associate Program Officer at the National Academy of Medicine, where he managed the “Accelerating the National Climate and Health Movement”, an initiative convening hundreds of health-related organizations to advance climate and health goals. Prior to that, he was a Science Policy Program Associate at the Federation of American Scientists, engaging in a range of science policy topics from the bioeconomy to space policy.
He has a diverse background in developmental neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, photography, and biomedical science policy. He holds an MS in Biomedical Science Policy and Advocacy from Georgetown University and presented at the 2021 Georgetown Nuclear Summit on the ethics and health effects of cosmic radiation on cognition and deep space exploration. His policy interests include space policy, emerging technologies, circular economies, and climate and health.
